Program

In order for the world to meet UN’s sustainability goals, a shift is required. We need to change the way we produce, consume, and dispose in order to do something about climate changes and social differences. We need to change the way we treat each other, ourselves, and our planet. At Shift, we believe in entrepreneurship as a tool to make these changes through cooperation and responsible innovation. We believe that people and firms able to spot and realize the opportunities inherent in this shift will be the change agents the world needs. Everyone knows we need to make a change. At Shift you learn how!

About the program

Shift entrepreneurship is a 2-year master’s program that focuses on learning how to make change through entrepreneurship. Through the program you will learn how to spot and realize entrepreneurial opportunities by taking relevant courses and creating a business together with your fellow students. The program is highly engaging, and every course includes both theory and practice with input from several experienced founders and established firms. The objective is to educate candidates with the skills and mindset necessary to make impactful changes in society.

At Shift you further choose a specialization based on your bachelors degree. If you have a bachelor in economics and administration, you will qualify for Shift entrepreneurship and business, and receive the title “siviløkonom”. If you have a bachelor in engineering, you will qualify for Shift entrepreneurship and technology, and receive the title “sivilingeniør”. Other bachelor degrees will qualify for Shift entrepreneurship and innovation. The Shift mill

In addition to the activities included in the courses, Shift students benefit from several activities included in the “Shift mill”. The mill includes our student incubator UiA Nyskaping, events organized by Shift and others, a wide network of collaborators from industry, and (when established) our alumni network.

Shift benefits from fruitful collaboration with industry and public experts in a wide range of businesses and organizations in and outside of Norway. Experienced founders and established organizations contribute to Shift by delivering guest lectures, providing real-life business cases, and offering invaluable advice to our students.
